Would it be weird to get my baby christened if i'm not catholic? please read.?

i am not religious, agnostic i guess....my boyfriends family is catholic though, his grandma came over the other day and said it would mean a lot to her if i got her christened, she wants to sew her a dress. she didn't force me into it or anything she just asked me if i would want to. i don't mind, if it would mean a lot to a family member its fine with me, we're not planning on raising her catholic, so would this be an odd thing to do? since i'm not catholic? my mom said it would be weird and they might not do it if i'm not catholic....please be honest
