What are the different ailments of the circulatory system?

The most common ailments of the circulatory system include heart diseases and strokes. Heart attacks are by far the most common circulatory system disease and occur due to blockages in the arteries that supply the heart. Strokes can occur because of blockages in the arteries that supply the brain. The blockages (atherosclerosis) can occur in virtually any organ in the body. For example, blockages in the arteries supplying the lower extremities is known as peripheral arterial (vascular) disease. Aneurysms are also a type of circulatory disease in which the artery dilates and the most common location is the abdominal aorta known as abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs.)
