What do you think about 5 flower girls and 4 ring bearers?

We had an uneven number of bridesmaids and groomsmen and so we doubled them up coming down the aisle. If you don't want all the kids in the party itself couldn't you ign them jobs like handing out programs or birdseed so they feel they're part of the festivities without having to be in the wedding party itself?
